The landscape depicts an apparently bombed out urban center, reminiscent of devastation and damaged buildings in Ukrainian cities, but the place in this painting is fictional. Commercial billboards are one feature that somehow have remained unscathed by the bombing. The billboards are mainly written in English, which a disorientation as to exactly where we are geographically. The title "Dissonantia" derives from the Latin root of the word "dissonance". The intention is to picture how aggression permeates into forms of consumption, and the absurdity of making future predictions of what will remain.
Es un mural de paisaje pintado sobre papel de fondo. (El tipo de papel que se suele utilizar para los fondos de fotografía). La pintura representa una ciudad aparentemente bombardeada, que recuerda la devastación y los edificios dañados en varios ciudades ucranianas. Sin embargo; las vallas publicitarias comerciales son una característica del paisaje que de alguna manera ha permanecido ilesa por el bombardeo. Las vallas publicitarias están escritas principalmente en inglés, lo que agrega una desorientación adicional en cuanto a exactamente dónde estamos geográficamente en el mundo. El título "Dissonantia" deriva de la raíz latina de la palabra "disonancia". La intención es traer una mirada crítica sobre quienes lucran con maniobras militares violentas en cualquier parte, y cuán importantes las disonancias globales se filtran en el surrealismo de conflicto cotidiano de la cultura y las redes sociales.
